Mr Parks Franklyn Mpho Tau is the former Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. He is also a former Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for the Department of Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture & Rural Development in the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG). He is also a former Provincial Treasurer of the ANC in Gauteng and former Chairperson of the Gauteng legislature portfolio committee on Finance.
Minister Tau has completed studies in Public Management from Regenesys Business School, and holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy & Management from the University of London.
Historical Reflection:
Minister Parks Tau is a seasoned local government practitioner and is a former Councillor in the Johannesburg Metro. In the year 2000, Minister Tau was appointed as Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Development Planning, Transportation, and Environment. From 2003 to 2011 Tau served as MMC of the Finance & Economic Development portfolio in the City of Johannesburg. Minister Tau was elected as the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg where he served from 2011 until 2016. He was the second democratically elected Mayor after Mr Amos Masondo.

Fifi Peters
Fifi Peters is an Award-winning Financial Journalist and Broadcaster. She is a Senior Anchor at CNBC Africa and Host of the SAfm Market Update, with Moneyweb.

Fifi has worked in some of the most reputable financial newsrooms in South Africa including the Business Day and Financial Mail.
​
An economist at heart, Fifi obtained her BA Degree in Economics & Journalism from Rhodes University in 2010.
She also holds certificates in Finance, Law and Media from the SA Institute of Financial Markets (SAIFM), the London School of Economics (LSE) and the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), respectively.
As a conference facilitator and MC, Fifi has moderated discussions for government entities and private sector companies in Africa as well as multilateral institutions including the United Nations.

Fifi has also facilitated discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Dr. Anna Mokgokong
Dr. Anna Mokgokong has a BSc degree from the University of Botswana and is a qualified Medical Doctor which she obtained at the Medical University of South Africa.

Known as an unstoppable force, Chancellor, Dr. Anna T. Mokgokong, better as Dr. Anna, was the first woman in the country to be bestowed with an honorary doctorate in business(Doctorate Honoris Causa Commerce from the University of South Africa). Dr. Anna has garnered widespread recognition for her expertise in Healthcare, Academia, Commerce, and Governance, breaking barriers and inspiring others to follow, as a trailblazer in corporate South Africa.

She is the Co-founder and Executive Chairperson of Community Investment Holdings (CI Holdings), a 100% black-owned company established post-democracy in 1995. Dr. Anna was recognised as the leading woman entrepreneur of the world in 1998 and was awarded the Businesswoman of the Year South Africa in 1999.
She has served as the Honorary Consul General of Iceland in Pretoria since 2017. Dr. Anna is a former president of the International Women's Forum South Africa 2006 – 2009 and is still an active member of the organisation. Her accolades and recognition, indicates that her influence extends far beyond the borders of South Africa.

Recognised as a Senior Director of Companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Dr. Anna has held and still holds pivotal positions in listed companies such as Afrocentric Investment Corporation. Furthermore, she made history in corporate South Africa on 6 August 2012 by becoming the first female Director of Shoprite Holdings Limited, the largest retailer in Africa. Demonstrating once more that she’s a trailblazer in transformation and gender recognition.
Beyond her involvement in listed entities, Dr Mokgokong contributes to various non-listed organizations, where she serves as a director notably currently serving as a non-executive Chairman of Seriti Resources Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
Her commitment to social activism and philanthropy drives her passion for women's empowerment and transformation, focusing on fostering equality in South Africa's economy. Dr. Anna has been an active member of her community and have served civil society organisations and commissions such as the deputy chairperson of the remuneration commission (2004 – 2009).
In recognition of her exceptional contributions, she was appointed as the third Chancellor and the first female to hold this esteemed position at the North-West University (NWU) in November 2019. Dr. Anna was honoured with the "Women Who Make A Difference Award" in Las Vegas 2022, selected amongst 7800 members internationally from a group of highly diversified women emerging from 33 nations across the globe.

On November 7, 2023, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to shaping a more gender-inclusive society, Standard Bank Top Women Awards awarded Dr. Anna with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.” This event celebrates excellence in gender empowerment by recognising South Africa’s most accomplished women leaders and organisations.
She was awarded “The Legacy Award” at the 2nd Black Industrialists and Exporters Conference held on 20 March 2024 at the Sandton International Convention Centre. The awards announced at the conference aimed at recognising the contribution of Black Industrialists towards driving economic growth, social transformation and in advancing inclusive entrepreneurship in the South Africa and were presented by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Dr. Mokgokong delivered the keynote address during the Cambridge Africa business conference on the 18th May 2024 at the Cambridge Judge business school on “Igniting entrepreneurial skills in Africa”.
Her latest accomplishment is the “Outstanding Leadership Award” in recognition of her entrepreneurship journey received at the first African Women in Business (AWiB) and Regenesys Business School’s conference themed Breaking Barriers, Igniting Growth on the 24th August 2024.

Shirley Machaba
Shirley is Chief Executive Officer for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Southern Africa and Regional Senior Partner, Southern Africa from 1 July 2019. She is the first woman to hold this senior regional position.

She has been a Partner in PwC Assurance Services practice for 17 years. She is a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), qualified Chartered Director Southern Africa (CD ((SA)), and holder of Certification in Risk Management (CRMA), Certification in Controls Self-Assessment (CCSA) and Certificate in Corporate Governance (Cert. CG) and has over 28 years internal, external audit, risk management, compliance and governance experience within private and public sector across all industries. She has published several articles on internal audit in the professional journals of the IPFA, JUTA and IIA. She is a renowned speaker and has presented at National, Regional level and International conferences. She served as a board member of the IIA SA and chair of its Audit, Finance and Risk Committee for 6 years before becoming President, a role she diligently played for two terms, i.e. 4 years. She served as Chief Audit Executive (CAE) for National Department of Justice from 1999 until March 2004.

Before her CEO role she served in various leadership roles within PwC including the following: PwC South Africa Governance, Risk and Internal Audit Leader: July 2006 – June 2009 PwC Southern Africa Governance, Risk and Internal Audit Leader: July 2009 - June 2014 PwC Africa Governance, Risk and Internal Audit Leader and a member of the Global Leadership Team: July 2014- June 2019.

She served on the PwC Global Government and Public Sector Leadership as well as the Global Diversity and Inclusion Leadership team. She is currently Partner-in-Charge of the Waterfall Office since 1 July 2018. She serves on the PwC Africa Leadership team.
She has been proactively involved in the internal audit profession at local, regional and global levels. She has proactively served on IIA local, global and regional structures. She served as past past President of IIA SA and served on the IIA SA board since June 2015 until 30 July 2019. She was a member of various committees of the IIA SA board while serving as President, past President and past past President. She served as chair of the Institute Relations Committee (IRC) since July 2017 until June 2020, an IIA Global Board Committee where she has been a member for 6 years. She served as a member of African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (AFIIA) representing Southern Africa, then Secretary General. She is currently a member of Board of Trustee of Internal Audit Foundation, an IIA global organisation since March 2020.

She is passionate and has presented on Transformation, Diversity and Inclusion, locally, regionally and globally, including at Africa WEF in Cape Town and UN Women side events in New York as well as at the Forbes Woman Africa Leading Women’s Summit, the Standard Bank Top Women Leaders Conference, ABASA Women Leading Conference, GIBS’ Leading Women in Business Power Breakfast, AWCA Women’s Month Conference and IWFSA Women Leadership Summit.
She serves on the Judging Panel for the Gender Mainstream Awards since 2018. She serves on the Rising Star Awards Judging Panel since 2019 and Top Women panel since 2022. She has had an opportunity to write publications and co-present with Prof Mervyn King on governance, risk and internal audit matters locally and regionally. She serves on Africa Initiative Advisory Council – an IIA Global initiative to assist African countries Institutes of Internal Auditors in advocating Internal Audit profession. She is a thought leader and trusted advisor on matters of Governance, Risk and Controls. She is currently an ambassador of Standard Bank Top Women.
She is passionate about education and people progression in general.

She has received several accolades as follows:
In 2002 she was honoured by the Institute of Internal Auditors in recognition of her excellent achievement in the development and growth of internal auditing in the Public Sector. In 2003, she was named “Internal Auditor of the Year” by the IIA SA. Shirley was honoured by the BWA in June 2006 with the Regional Businesswoman of the year award. She was also honoured the outstanding contribution award by IPFA in 2004. She was a finalist of the “Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Business and in Government” during 2013. She was nominated finalist of the “Top Black Female Leader of The Year” by Top Media Communications during 2014. She was honoured by African Woman Chartered Accountants as “Audit Partner of The Year” in 2016. She was also honoured by Black Management Forum as “Manager of The Year” again in 2016. She was honoured “Regional Businesswoman of The Year” award by BWA in 2006. She was honoured by South African Professional Services Awards with the “Big 4 Professional of the Year” as well as being named the overall “Woman Professional of the Year” in February 2018. She is the nominee of “Businesswoman of the Year” for 2018 by BWA. She was honoured by South African Professional Services Awards for the “Accounting Industry Leader of the Year” and “Overall Professional of the Year” in 2020. She was nominated finalist for the “Role Model of the Year” by Gender Mainstream Award in September 2020.

Mark Goliath
Mark Goliath is currently the Acting Divisional Executive: Manufacturing at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) which focuses on developing and expanding all manufacturing sectors in the economy.
He has 16 years of investment banking experience with the IDC and further 14 years of manufacturing experience in various sectors and roles.
His educational background includes: NDip Chemical Engineering, BCom Hons Financial Management and MBA.

Kitso Lemo
Kitso Lemo is an Associate Director and member of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice at Boston Consulting Group.
Kitso has extensive on the ground experience in several African and global markets, for clients in telecommunications, technology, and mobile financial services. His key projects have included customer journey diagnostics and redesigns, financial services ecosystem strategy, mobile financial services diagnostics and strategy, digital services strategy and operationalization support for telcos, B2B digital services strategy, insurance process digitisation strategy, and telco sales channel digitisation.
He has turnaround experience in both TMT and power and utilities, working closely with clients across all phases of large-scale turnarounds – independent diligence, bottom-up planning, and implementation.
Prior to joining BCG, Kitso worked at another top tier, global management consulting firm for seven years in South Africa and Kenya.
Kitso’s areas of expertise include TMT, customer journey, data and analytics as well as emerging markets.
He holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA, Economics from Harvard University.

Lorraine Khoza
Lorraine Khoza is a Senior Investment Banker in the Global and Leverage Finance (SA) team at Absa Corporate and Investment Banking.
​
Lorraine is the lead responsible for the Renewable Energy (Corporate Facilities and Equity Bridge Loans) as well as the Consumer Goods and Services portfolios.
​
She is an experienced transactor with experience spanning over 10 years in Banking and expertise across multiple sectors including Telecoms, Property, Non-Banking Financial Institutions and Industrials.
Lorraine is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA).
